- Reckless driving. Reckless driving is both a traffic violation and a criminal charge, and is defined as operating a vehicle without regard to the safety of others on the road.
- Aggressive driving. Aggressive driving and reckless driving are similar, however, with aggressive driving, the driver purposely drive in an unsafe manner. The most common example of this is road rage.
- Racing. Racing at high speeds on roads and highways could result in multiple traffic violations and the automatic loss of your license
- Hit and run. If you hit a vehicle and do not stop to give your identifying and insurance information, this is a hit and run and you could lose your license immediately.
- Evading police. If you do not stop for police when they turn on their sirens to pull you over, this could be considered evading the police. You can turn on your hazard lights and wait to pull over to a lighted, public area, but you may still be charged with evasion and will need the help of a defense attorney to prove that you were looking for a safe place to stop and not evading.
- Improper passing. This includes passing a driver on the right or passing on the left when the left lane is not clear to do so.
- Drunk driving. Georgia has a zero-tolerance policy for intoxicated drivers under the age of 21.
- Passing a school bus. Passing a school bus that has its lights on or is stopped usually results in an immediate suspension.
- Purchasing alcohol. Even though you’re not driving, Georgia can suspend your license if you are under 21 and buy alcohol.
- Any violation that assigns for or more points.
